The DVA QLD deputy commissioner, Tara Hatzismalis visited last Tuesday and enjoyed lunch. Afterwards, she was accompanied by myself and Peter Handy and given a direct account of our opinions on DVA’s helpfulness towards our facilities and grant applications. She was acquainted of the fact that we were still waiting for the QLD Branch BEST funding amount for the Financial year of 21 and 22 given that it was now October 21st. She was also acquainted with the fact that neither of our branches had received any grant funding other than annual BEST grant funding. She was also made aware of the fact that funding for our new utility was provided by the QLD Government via their GCBF grants scheme after being denied a grant from DVA although the same justification was used in both applications. She undertook to look into these matters.
